Detection Dogs

Since 2020, a large portion of the work we do at APEX canine is detection. We train and handle our own dogs, we assist trainers and handlers who are encountering issues with their dogs, and we help out rescues by assessing, training and finding placements for dogs that show potential for detection work.

We have dogs trained on:

• Koala scat

• Rodent

• Plant pathogen species

We occasionally run seminars and workshops on training detection, canine olfaction and scent movement. We will soon be offering an online course!
